General workings And Rules
This is just to explain the general workings of the league, feel free to respond with questions.
This is a league unlike in-game pokemon leagues. Instead it is more like sports leagues, where teams of players compete vs each other and earn points towards a league championship.
One "season" of the league will last two months, and then standings will reset.
All rules incidents will be decided by the three admins, Aquaaa, Eclipseverity and Imanalt.
Now, onto how things will actually work:
- Teams of four players, and anywhere from 0-2 substitutes will compete against each other in the following format:
-Match-ups for each month will be released 1 week before that month starts, each team will have one or two matchups each week.
-A matchup will consist of the four team players for each team playing each against one opponent on the opposing team. Thus, an example matchup between two teams would look something like this:
Team 1 vs Team a
Player 1 Beats Player a
Player 2 is defeated by Player b
Player 3 Beats Player c
Player 4 Beats Player d
(team 1 wins, 3-1)
-If a player for one team can not compete in the timeframe for the matchup, then a substitute for that team must compete, or a loss will be awarded.
-For defeating another team, a team will be awarded 3 points. For a draw 1 point will be awarded to each team, and for a loss 0 points are awarded.
- At the end of the season, if two teams are tied, Individual match differential will determine the who leads. (i.e if two teams are tied, but one of those teams had won 33 individual battles, and had lost 19, and the other had won 32 battles and lost 20, the team who was 33-19 would be ahead of the other team)
-All participants MUST have an account on this forum, and it is recommended that PM's on here be used to coordinate matches
More explanation of individual case rules will be explained as they occur.

Re: General workings And Rules
I'm guessing any ties e.g Team 1 and Team 2 both have 20 wins and 20 losses will be decided by a tie breaker match, or will it just be reliant on who won when the 2 teams faced each other?

nah, once we have captains, players agree to play with a team, captains DO NOT get to pick players without the player's choice

What he means is that each team of four people will face each other in 4 1v1 games. If team A wins 3 games and team B wins 1 game, team A wins, and team A has 3 points, and a game record of 3-1. Rankings are based on points, and in the case of a tie in points, game record is used to determine who is higher ranked. In the case of a point and game record tie, the victor of the match between the two tied teams is higher ranked. in the case of a tie, a single representative will be chosen by the team from each team to play a tiebreaker game. this game will not count toward your game record.
Explained better?

Re: General workings And Rules
You would have to be on approximately once a week at a time you can agree upon with your opponent(s). if you couldn't make it once or twice, that's what subs are for I presume.

Re: General workings And Rules
In the signing section description, it talks about players creating posts saying that they are interested in joining a team, maybe someone should actually create said topic for players? Also, needs moar advertisement on PL, to try and get the user numbers up

Probably not, Salamence and Latias are allowed in Standard, Standard is not a tier, so this tournament/league thing will probably be Smogon OU.

Re: General workings And Rules
Smogon 4th Gen tiers will be used for the tournament, meaning Latias and Salamence are considered Uber.
